Kix Prize Pack Giveaway & Review

Growing up in the household with a very successful, goal-driven (read: super busy), nutritionist mother, my sister and I had to eat something healthy in the morning and we also had to be able to prepare it quickly. Yes, we were the kids who had the restriction on super-sugary cereals. We were a Kix and Cheerios family. Mom threw in a little Honey Nut Cheerios when she wanted to kick it up a notch. She wanted to make healthy choices for us while keeping it easy for herself.

Based on a new survey from Kix, she’s not alone. The survey found that 84 percent of parents turn to cereal with milk for a quick and healthy breakfast.

Cereal is one of the healthiest breakfast choices parents can make. Ready-to-eat cereal has fewer calories than almost any other common breakfast option, while also being nutrient-dense and convenient. In addition, cereal eaters consume less cholesterol and more fiber than non-cereal eaters.

WHERE was I when Kix came out with Honey Kix? When Big D, Little D and I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago, I had set aside a small container of it for myself because they kept returning from the kitchen together with their hands in the box. No milk, just lightly-sweetened crunchy goodness. Honey Kix gives Kix that extra-special je ne sais quoi. Just like the good old days when I was a wee one, Kix (especially Honey Kix!) has become a staple in our morning routine.

The "Kid-Tested Mother-Approved®"cereal is made with whole grain corn and is an excellent source of iron. It also is a good source of calcium, fiber, and Vitamins C and D. Original Kix has no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

Would you like to try Kix and Honey Kix? How about your very own snack container, to keep a little Kix on the side for Mama? General Mills is also throwing in something fun for the kiddies. This prize pack includes a 24-piece counting-themed floor puzzle, fun learn-to-count flashcards, a sippy cup, a portable snack container and a box each of Original Kix and Honey Kix cereals.

  11. My morning routine. I get up before anyone else. I make coffee, while it's brewing, I fill the wood burning stove, clean if needed, let the critters out, shovel the walk if it snowed, feed the critters, fold the clothes that I left in the dryer, do the dishes if I left them from the night before, go to my computer, drink my coffee. Hubby gets up to a warm house, clean clothes and dishes, shoveled walk, and he plops down in recliner and turns the TV on. Anything wrong with this picture? hee hee

  36. I seriously make mornings special by doing two things. First I get up before everyone else and take my shower. Then I get my son up and while he is showering I get his lunch set as well as breakfast. We start off the morning just the two of us by watching an episode of (don't laugh) Angel together. Then it is off to the bus stop for him. As soon as I get back from bus stop drop off, I jump back into bed with my husband where we cuddle and talk for 10 minutes before he jumps up and gets his shower. Seriously, a little time with each of my men (little and big) make every day special. Weekends it is much the same, but LATER. :)
    Thanks for the review.
